Connected Being

India Yoga Retreat

with Alice Gray

Seven Nights in Himachal Pradesh

28 October - 4 November 2025

In a world filled with disconnect, this is your opportunity to reconnect.

Life can feel like a continuous hum of disconnect can’t it? You find yourself with constant pulling of responsibilities and distractions taking you in many directions.

This retreat - Connected Being - was born out of a strong desire to reconnect: to yourself, your physical body, your values, your beliefs, and this land that you personally are so lucky to live peacefully on.

This retreat is for you if…

  • You’re craving a proper holiday that is actually for yourself.

  • You’re seeking deep rest, great movement, and plenty of nourishment.

  • You want to deepen your connection to yoga, or re-vitalise your relationship with it.

  • You want to practice in a way that is empowered, embodied, and layered with meaning.

  • You are looking for genuine connection, good laughs, and conversation with like minded humans.

  • You’ve been dreaming of majestic nature, beautiful weather, and the opportunity to be in a once in a lifetime location.

Will you come join me at this private lakeside retreat in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas for a getaway that you fully deserve next year?

Hello morning sunrise views from the yoga shala.

What you will get…

  • Seven nights accommodation.

  • Three fresh meals a day.

  • Two daily yoga classes in a fully equipped yoga shala (starting with a welcome evening practice on the 28th, closing with an evening practice on the 3rd).

  • An en-suite room with its own terrace, either private or shared.

  • Daily house cleaning.

  • Unlimited tea, coffee, fresh fruit.

No words needed.

What you can expect…

You’ll get two daily yoga classes: in the large thatched yoga shala that sits in the beautiful tropical garden or on the roof terrace that has 360 panoramic views of the surroundings. The shala has gorgeous views of the lake and with its thatched roof and marble floor it stays wonderfully cool even in the hottest part of the day.

Your morning classes will be up-lifting, energising, intentional, and flow based. Early evening classes will be restorative and super chilled - think myofascial release, lots of bolsters, pranayama, and Nidra. All of the good stuff! Expect unhurried and indulgent yoga and quality movement. Not practiced with me yet? Find out more about me and my style of sharing yoga with you below.

0utside of yoga you will have plenty of time for swimming (either chilling at the infinity pool, or taking a dip the local lake), sunbathing, reading, hiking, canoeing, treating yourself to a massage or two, and exploring the peaceful local area.

On a clear day see right out to the Himalayas.

Your accommodation…

You’ll be very comfortable sleeping in either a spacious private double or twin-bedded (can be made into a double) room with its own en-suite bathroom, private terrace, or balcony. Each room gets daily house cleaning, and has extensive views over the garden or surrounding area.

Looking to share a room but not coming with a friend? State this in the booking form and I will do my best to pair you up.

The food…

Oh the food! You’ll get three leisurely meals a day in the large shaded veranda of the main house. The kitchen is under the supervision of David Butterworth (a founder of Covent Garden’s prestigious Neal’s Yard bakery). He produces both European and local vegetarian dishes, daily baked breads and desserts, fresh juices from fruit trees, and the option of fresh line caught fish from the lake for non vegetarians. Treat yourself to a glass of wine or a beer too if you like.

Location and climate…

The retreat centre overlooks a lake formed from the damming of the Beas River in the north-west corner of India. It lies in the western edge of Kangra Valley in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh. At 500m above sea level has a unique micro-climate. The cooling presence of the lake means that even when temperatures are high the air is fresh for much of the year. From mid September to mid December the days are typically warm, skies are clear, and peak temperatures in the day range from 26-34 degrees.

Flights and travel recommendations…

If traveling from the UK/ Europe/Australia I recommend you leave the day before the retreat so that you arrive in India the day of. I recommend you fly to Amritsar - a lot of airlines fly via Delhi. (From Edinburgh you can fly to Amritsar with Qatar Airlines, from London with Air India. and from Dubai you can fly direct with Air India.)

Your travel from Amritsar to the Retreat Centre is approx three hours by car and will be organised for you closer to the time. You may wish to spend an extra night in Amritsar before or after the retreat and take the opportunity to visit the revered Golden Temple.

The Golden Temple of Amritsar - a must see if you decide on extending your stay.

About me…

I'm Alice and over the course of nearly 10 years as a yoga teacher I have cultivated a deep passion for empowering students through an embodied, intuitive, and meaningful approach to teaching and practising.

You can expect from me practises that sensitively balances precision and stability, and also fluidity and creativity.  My aim for students is to come away creating a greater sense of awareness, to explore new movement patterns, and to feel like they have really learnt something.

As well as a yoga teacher, I am a lover of many styles of movement, and fascinated by the human body and its mystery. The type of student that is drawn to my classes are open minded, curious and caring, lover of knowledge, and seeker of seeing different perspectives. My favourite yoga quote is from Judith Lasater: ‘teach people, not poses.’

Explore grounds maintained with so much care and love.

Make meaningful life long connections.

Having spent time here myself personally, there is no other place in the world right now that I want to retreat in with you.
