Join the next generation of progressive, intelligent and empowering pre and post natal yoga teachers.

17th -20th July, Nest Studios, Glasgow

This training is for you because:

  • You are a yoga teacher who wants to specialise in pregnancy and postpartum yoga, or simply have a really keen interest and want to learn more for your current classes.

  • You work with pregnant or postpartum clients in another capacity already and want to offer them more in your toolkit.

  • Perhaps motherhood is a journey you are going through or considering going through at some point, and want to empower yourself by learning more.

  • You believe that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum deserves a deeper understanding and recognition in the yoga and movement world, and you want to contribute to that.

  • You want to guide women through these profound transitions with confidence, wisdom, and integrity.

  • You seek a training that is evidence-based, thorough, while also anchored in deeper meaning and intuition.

  • You know that pregnancy yoga doesn’t have to be slow or boring — it can be creative, embodied, and fun.

“Movement in all its variety of forms is an expression of life and is essential to the continuation of life.”
— Linda Hartley, Wisdom of the Body Moving

What to expect:

  • An approach to pregnancy and postpartum yoga that is intelligent and embodied— learning to move beyond simple ‘one size fits all’ modifications to create classes that feel expressive, empowering, and deeply connected to the body.

  • Facilitators that do not see pregnant people as fragile flowers that need to fear movement, but powerful and capable. You’ll learn to share so many things that people transitioning through this period can confidently still do.

  • A training that values multi disciplinary study and teaching. Expect to learn information that has perspectives and insights from yoga, anatomy, physical therapy, cellular physiology, hypnobirthing, and doula support.

  • A supportive learning environment where you will be surrounded by like minded individuals, that are compassionate and care deeply about offering more in the field of pregnancy and postpartum.

What you will learn:

  • The anatomical, physiological, and energetic changes in a pregnant and postpartum body.

  • In depth understanding of the core, the diaphragm, the pelvic floor, and diastasis recti.

  • How to create pregnancy and postpartum yoga classes that are inclusive, creative, and deeply embodied — helping women feel strong, spacious, and intune with their bodies.

  • Ways to adapt your mixed level yoga classes for each trimester and postpartum recovery.

  • The role of the nervous system, the power of language, and how to support mothers in this time of transition.

  • The physiology of hormones of labour and birth (both vaginal and cesarean), informed consent in a medical setting, and debunking common myths and associations around pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

  • Understanding birth as a natural primal process and how this can inspire your offerings.

  • Post-partum and beyond: how to help heal, strength-build, and be a pillar of support to clients.

  • Guidance on facilitating mum and baby yoga and holding women’s circles.

  • Trauma-informed approaches and techniques to teaching and what it means to hold space for mothers.

  • Advanced pelvic floor anatomy guest lecture from a pelvic health physio.

your lead Teacher:

Alice Gray

I'm Alice and I am on a strong mission to spread purposeful and meaningful yoga and movement. Teaching pre and post natal yoga is a great honour and I love sharing with people everything their miraculous body can still do while being informed, educated, and learning to trust their intuition.

Over the course of my ten year career as a yoga teacher, I have cultivated a deep passion for empowering others through an embodied and intelligent approach to teaching. I have been leading yoga trainings since 2020 and have worked with over 130 teachers to date. I find this work a joy, an honour, and something that I don’t take lightly.

As well as a yoga teacher I am a trained Birth Doula, a Pre and Post Natal Correct Exercise specialist, a qualified Personal Trainer, and a mum.

I am a lover of many styles of movement, and fascinated by the human body and its mystery. The type of student that is drawn to my trainings are caring, curious, lover of knowledge, and seeker of seeing different perspectives. My favourite yoga quote is from Judith Lasater: ‘teach people, not poses.’

GUEST EXPERTS

ROSIE DAVEY

Rosie is a specialist pelvic floor physiotherapist with a sports background previously in semi professional sport and musculoskeletal issues. Rosie is passionate about movement and exercise and its benefits for mental health especially in pregnancy and post natal timeframes. She is passionate that women are educated and feel empowered by their bodies and the changes that their body goes through from pregnancy to the changes into motherhood.

There is a lot of myths and rules when it comes to exercise in these timeframes and Rosie is passionate that women are empowered and confident in their bodies and not fearful. Rosie normalises conversations that can seem taboo and embarrassing, and she wants every movement specialist to also feel confident in discussing these conversations with their population. She believes we all have a role in supporting our clients pelvic health but also our own.
